Medically Tailored Meals as Value-added Benefit (VAB) in Medicaid

With a recognition that most of health outcomes are driven by social factors, including access to healthy foods, CMS and State Medicaid Directors are looking for Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to offer support for the social determinants of health (SDOH) to beneficiaries.  One way to do so is through value-added benefits (VABs).  In this webinar, hear how Medicaid MCOs are using meals as a VAB.  In Florida, Home-delivered Meals are an expanded benefit offered by all contracted MCOs.  Hear how one Florida health plan reduced readmissions and supported members after discharge.
